"OK, C’mon Jim, $300,000 Working Part-time with No Employees?"

I'll cut to the chase right here. I mentioned earlier that I earn more than $300,000 a year online. Let me clear something up right now though... I did NOT do that my first year online, and you probably can't either. (Contrary to what lots of other "marketers" will have you believe!)

But before you get too disappointed, let me say this... you can do quite well your very first year. I'll share some of my own hard figures with you in a moment so you'll know how well you can do. I'll even show you the step-by-step process I took, so you can copy it if you would like to.

But $300,000 a Year?

"Does your simple, web-based business really pull in that much money?" ...

In a word, YES!

I realize many of you reading this right now may have a hard time believing it is even possible for one person to make six figures a year, from the comfort of home. (Although many of you who have been with me as a BizWeb Gazette subscriber since the beginning may have no problem at all believing it.) But it is exactly what I have been able to accomplish. And that figure could be much higher if I weren't so lazy. (Many weeks I work as little as 12-15 hours - especially during golf season!)

And sure, that figure represents gross income. Uncle Sam gets his hands on a nice chunk too. (Actually, I now pay more in taxes each year than I took home annually at my old job.) But considering I really do work when I want and have no one to answer to, I'm pretty happy with the results so far. A six-figure a year business from your basement may seem outrageous to many, but it really is "par for the course" for lots of new cyber-business owners. (The few who do it right anyway.)

NOTE: Even if a six-figure a year income sounds totally unbelievable in your mind because you've never done it before (or yet!)... then at the very least, allow me to show to you how you can make 4-5 figures EASILY, working part-time with almost ZERO risk!

Now you may be wondering...
"How is all that money made?"

It's all pretty simple actually... About half of it comes from direct sales at my website, where I promote my small selection of manuals. Customers place orders using their credit cards and the money goes into my bank account. The other half of my income arrives via commission checks. Every month I receive a handful of ever-growing checks in the mail. These checks come from a small group of carefully selected affiliate programs I've joined on the web.

But the best part is this... all this "money-making" happens whether I'm working or not.

Now I am NOT telling you all this to brag, and no, I am certainly not "filthy rich." Although six figures a year may seem like a lot of money to some folks, I consider this income just a mere step in the right direction. I plan to increase my income while decreasing my workload even further over the next few years. (Hmm... what a crazy concept... "work less, but make more"... too bad everyone else does it the other way!)

But let’s talk about right now, not a few years from now.

 

Right now, I can think of lots of folks who could use an extra three or four thousand bucks every week. Maybe you’re one of them. Or perhaps you’d be happy making even an extra $1000 bucks a month? Whatever your goals are, I'd like to help you reach them.

But I must caution you before we continue... I will not guarantee that everyone reading this right now will have the same success I've had. Different people have different ambitions. But I can promise one thing…

I will reveal each key step I’ve taken to get here. If you're interested in trading your job for "making a living online," you just got started on that path. And all you have to do is read on, discover the steps I've taken, and copy them!

Now before I reveal those steps to you, I'd like you to listen to just a few details about my own story. Only then will you realize that I really am just an average, ordinary guy. Actually, years ago I never even dreamed I'd ever have my own business. I never sold a thing in my life and had no desire to. I was pretty content working 40-50 hours a week for the same company for 10 years. I had even made it up to service manager, just before my contentment was shaken by an ugly word -- perhaps you've heard it before...

Downsize

The mid-1990s was not a good time to be a new manager in an old company that had too many employees. As downsizing reared its ugly head, I began to wonder when my number would be up. What would I do without my $400 salary every week? I had zero money in the bank and all my credit cards had somehow gotten close to their limits. I didn’t realize it, but I truly was living from paycheck to paycheck.

If I was next to get that famous pink slip, I was in trouble. I had no "plan B" to go to. Moving back in with my parents at 30 was not something I was prepared to do. (I doubt they would have embraced the idea either!) I figured it was time to find another way to make money.

Money Does Not Always Come From Money…

Now for some odd reason, I had always believed that people who had money were born into it. Although this is true in some cases, these days it is becoming less true all the time. I’m living proof that you can also make your own fortunes in this world.

In early 1996 I took my modest tax refund ($300) and bought my first computer. It was an old beat up 386 - slow as molasses. I fired it up every night when I got home from my job, and started researching ways to make money online. I bought dozens of books and read everything I could get my hands on. And I failed miserably for three months...

That's right, I failed big time before hitting pay dirt.

The fact is, many now successful entrepreneurs, have failed repeatedly before hitting on something that works. So if you've been trying without success, you're in good company!

My first failure?… I figured I would make my fortunes at mail-order. Unfortunately, I had no idea what I was doing. I made exactly $50 in sales during the first two months and my expenses enormously outweighed my income. A total flop, right?

Well… not completely. I experienced some very valuable lessons during that short "discovery period" – as I like to call it. And within the next few months of this "awakening" I started my rapid ascent. The biggest lessons I learned:

How you market something is what makes or breaks your business.
Sure, you need a solid product or service, but you can locate those anywhere. (I'll explain that later.) It's the actual marketing that makes or breaks small businesses and I had no idea of the importance of that when I got started. Once I learned the techniques that really work, I was on my way.

The real world is no place for a small or home-based business. At least not if you want to double or triple your income every year. There is only one place that this type of rapid income growth can perpetuate – in cyberspace. Only online can a "tiny-budget business" experience rapid growth in income. There are lots of reasons for this. Among them are the tiny operating costs, a global customer base, and more. Take my word for it. I am a living, breathing example of just how powerful a force the Internet is for small and home-based businesses.

So how did you get to where you are today, Jim?…

Well, as I mentioned above, it was not an overnight process. If you're looking for overnight riches, even online, you can look elsewhere. And you'll find plenty of marketers offering just that. Unfortunately, they won't be able to deliver on it. Folks looking for overnight riches had better stick to playing the lottery. Because your odds of hitting the lottery are better than overnight success in any business. But that's not to say you can't grow an income source online, and do it much faster than you can anywhere else...

With my first failure behind me, by my fourth month in my online business I was up to almost $750 a week in sales. Then after eight months, I hit $1700 a week. And by the end of that same year I started, I was making enough money on my own, part time, to render my once "cherished" 9-5 job unnecessary. Actually, keeping my job was costing me money by the end of that first year. I knew I could make far more if I spent more time in my home business!

I beat my boss to the punch! You should have seen his face.

He probably thought I was coming into his office that morning to ask if I was next in line for the ax. What he got instead was my resignation letter. And by dedicating more time to my home business, my income did continue to rise.

At the one-year mark it went over $2,000 per week. And in my third full year, the income from my site and the affiliate programs I had joined surpassed $200,000. And each year as I work less and less, my income has continued to increase. (I'd rather not say exactly how much I'm making now.)

In fact, it's really no longer about the money. Sure, the money is great, but working only when I want and spending more time with my family is the best part. The beauty of it is that I now have the freedom to do whatever I want with my time. Not many people can say that and really mean it.

And the most important thing to remember from my example is this: There is no way, you or I or anyone else in the world can attain pay increases like those described above when you are working for someone else. It is impossible. Unless you are a professional athlete with skills that match the greatest players in the world, you just can’t do it.

However, in your own business, once you get started on the right path, your income can grow indefinitely. Oh sure, you’ll have to do some work. I never said you could make six figures a year without putting in some effort. But hey, if you run your own online business the right way, you can automate most of the work and still get richer all the time.

Remember: Absolutely anyone with a brain can do exactly what I'm doing. All you have to do is follow the steps I’ve taken.

The Actual Steps to Making YOUR Living Online...


What you are about to read will reveal exactly what you need to know to create a profitable LONG-TERM business on the Internet. When you understand and read the below "secrets to success," you won't be confused with all the hype on the Net. You'll know exactly what will work, and what won't.

Now that you realize that the two most important components are "marketing know-how" and "the Internet itself," here’s a checklist of three essential questions you'll need answered. I’ll answer each question for you in detail below.

1 What is the correct way to start an online business that will bring in enough income to "phase" out your job?
2 Exactly what should you be selling on the Internet? (Your only chance is with either your own product or service, or existing web-based items that fit a certain criteria.)
3 What specific online marketing strategies and tools really work? (The real secret is making money without spending money...)


Now let’s answer each question so you can get started...

First of all, do not become overwhelmed by that list. The process of building a successful online business is just that – a process. I promise to help you through this learning curve, so bear with me. I’ve helped thousands of folks before you and I know my system works. Remember -- it is my life, so I know what I’m talking about.

What is the correct way to start an online business that will bring you enough income to "phase out" your job?

There are many ways to start and grow a business online. After all, there are literally millions of people doing it as you read this. But unfortunately, a huge percentage of those people will fail for one of two reasons...

Obviously, the first step is the biggest for everyone - and it is as simple as starting your online business right away, and the right way.  I'll say that once more...

Right away.   and...  The right way.

Right away means... do it today. Far too many people "plan to get serious" about a business of their own "someday," when the conditions are just right. The fact is, the conditions are never just right for nearly everyone. Either there's "not enough spare time" or "not enough money" or something else keeps them from getting started. Quite simply, these folks never get started and stay in less than ideal situations literally forever.

You don’t need to quit your day job...

As a matter of fact, keeping your day job will actually help you by removing any pressure of failing. The beauty of an online business venture is that you can do it in your spare time. I kept my own day job for almost a year. Once your online income equals or surpasses your job income, then you can have that chat with the boss.

But you do have to get started. The Internet is not waiting around for new entrepreneurs who are thinking about getting in on the action. If you decide to "hold off a little while longer" or just "dabble" with possibilities, you’ll be letting the biggest opportunity for the average person ever, go right past you!

You already have every single thing you need...

right way to do it...

The right way means... Forget about business opportunities... Forget about multi-level marketing. Sure, network marketing, MLM and affiliate programs can be powerful, but not until your business is up and running first.

If you are serious about achieving long-term, reliable income online, you must set up your own business first.

Only then, will you be able to literally "plug in" any other program, opportunity, product, or service you want - and watch it make you money. Serious money.

This is how all successful web business owners got started. It's how I started and how thousands of others started. Period. If you have no idea what to do to set up your business, fear not. I'll be sharing more details on exactly how to do that.

Now let's move into the next big question you'll need answered...

Exactly what should you be selling on the Internet?

Ahh.. the big question. Exactly what should you be marketing, or selling on the Internet? That’s right, you need something to market if you are going to make any money.

What's that? You don't want to sell?

I've come across lots of people who want their own high-income business on the web but do not want to get involved with selling. What do I tell these folks? Simple. I tell them their other alternative. It's called a JOB.

The simple fact is, when you go into business for yourself, and you want to make serious money, you have to be able to market yourself or your products or services. (Don't worry, I've found that the Internet can make selling completely "hands-off" so you don't have to peddle a thing. I'll get into exactly how, later.)

Here’s another secret I seldom tell: I've been "anti-sales" for as long as I can remember. And still to this day, I've never sold a single thing in person. Actually, I stink at it. That's why the web is the only place my business could survive. (And thrive!) The Internet lets you be a sales "genius" without ever having to pitch a thing. Online, the actual act of selling is as simple as setting up a few automated tools and letting them do the work!

If you're "anti-sales" like me, here's a tip to put it all in perspective... When you sell something, you are not taking a person’s money. Customers are making the conscious decision that what you have to offer is worth a trade for a certain amount of their cash. This is exactly how and why capitalism works.

Better yet, I like to think of my selling as helping people make smart, informed decisions. The best salespeople I've seen online adhere to that same policy, and you can too. These online sales "experts" aren't at all like what many people would think they would be like. In most cases they're just regular folks like me!

So now that you know you have to sell something to start moving toward a high income, let's get right to the other part of this question...

What do you sell?

Once again, I’ll level with you completely... Too many online marketers tell you that you should be reselling their products! That's not true. The very best way to make money, either online or off, is to market your own products or services. Not only does this give you complete control, it enables you to maximize your profits by keeping most of the money from every sale.

[Side note: It is possible to make serious money online with existing products or services, but you must be extremely selective. (I'll get to this later too!)]

Now perhaps you already have a product or service in mind for your business. If you do, great! You're a step ahead of the pack. But if you have no idea what you could sell to make money online, here are just a few ideas…

During my humble beginnings, I learned that the number one seller in the world has always been, and always will be - information. Not just any information mind you, but specialized information. I made a decision that I would start my business on this premise. I set out to come up with the best information about Internet marketing I could offer at a price far below what others were selling it for. This has always been my business strategy and it will remain the same until it stops working. (Most likely never.)

And I've got news for you... creating your own information products is not hard at all. Everyone knows something about a particular subject. Whether it is "golfing" or "model airplane flying," you can easily create your own information products. Simply take your area of expertise and start writing down everything you know about it.

Think back to everything you have learned over the years about it. This is the type of information others want and need. They will pay good money to save their valuable time and get the facts that you already know. Once you have your facts together, putting them into a marketable format is much easier than you think. The Internet offers tons of cheap software for book printing, eBook creation and more. Just pick a program and run with it.

Now let me get back to that side note...
I can already hear lots of you thinking...

"I don't want to create a product or sell information. Can't I make money reselling products and services that other companies have already produced?"

The answer is yes. Absolutely. The Internet is spawning all types of new products and services every day, and you can make money selling them, but you must be extremely selective. You can make serious money only when selling products and services that fit a certain criteria.

What’s the criteria? Well, if the product or service fits the following categories, it should be considered:

1. It must have a large demand.

That is, you must be able to identify a large group of people who would be interested in it.

2. You must be able to earn a bare minimum of 25% of the profits on anything you sell.

There are far too many companies paying 5% or 10% commissions or less. The hard fact is, you just cannot sell enough of something at those commission rates to earn a substantial income.

3. You must be able to become a reseller without shelling out a large amount of cash.

I know of one marketer who charges thousands of dollars for the privilege of reselling his products. That's crazy. Unfortunately he's a big name marketer and lots of unsuspecting people fall into his trap. Nearly all of them never earn even their initial investment back. If you see a business opportunity that will require a large outlay of money, or the need for you to make many sales to earn back your initial investment, pass on it.

But When Done Correctly, Reselling Can Be Extremely Profitable...

I know firsthand that you can make excellent profits promoting products or services that others have developed. I do this every day. Here’s an example of how simple it is: One of the products I resell is software. People simply download the program at my website and try it out. If they like it they order a registration code from me using their credit card. Product delivery is as simple as emailing their registration code to them and that’s it. I earn fifty bucks every time. You won’t find anything that easy in the real world. No inventory, no shipping, no risk. And that's just one example.

You can also build serious, residual monthly checks by reselling. (This is the ultimate reselling experience, as it generates recurring monthly checks whether you work or not!) I've managed to do this with a few different web-based service companies, ranging from web hosting to private site memberships.

Last year alone, companies like that paid me more than $80,000 combined. I simply "plugged" their programs into my existing business. The demand is there and this is not hard to do. It just takes a little know-how and some time to set the deal up properly and market it effectively.

And I want to make one more thing clear here. It does not have to be marketing information, software or services you resell. It can be anything along the lines of your interests. A friend of mine even built a residual income of more than $5000 a month (and still growing) as a reseller of personal ad sites on the web. No matter what your interest, there is serious money to be made in promoting existing products and services online - if you know what you're doing.

Remember, although the best way to make lots of money online is to come up with at least one product or service that you own, you can do quite well even without that component. As the above examples prove, even if you have no ideas for an online business, you can still make a living online. The real key is to get started building your own business right away.

Now, let's move on to that third question and answer what specific online marketing strategies and tools actually work. In this next section I'll reveal a few of my best free and dirt-cheap online marketing strategies. Strategies I've proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, that will work for any business...

What specific online marketing strategies and tools should you be using to get website traffic that coverts into buyers?

OK, now the biggest question comes up... how do you actually get your message out to the cyber-public so you can start making money. What online marketing methods really work?

  • Search Engine Marketing?
  • Bulk email?
  • Discussion group participation?
  • Opt-in advertising?

The list of possible solutions goes on and on. And hey, I’ve tried them all and then some. And what most people don't realize is that lots of strategies are hyped-up wastes of time and money. On the other side of the coin though, lots of tricks you've probably never heard of work wonders for getting website visitors and sales.

Here's one more secret not many people know about me...

I'm a cheapskate when it comes to promoting my business. Thanks to the Internet and a lot of trial and error, I don't have to spend much money, even on typically expensive things like advertising. For example, here's just one method that works better than any advertising or promotion I've ever paid for, and this costs me about a buck a day...

Growing targeted opt-in lists...

This is definitely one of the best proven online marketing method I have used since 1996. To put it in the simplest terms, I grow targeted opt-in email lists and use tools that automatically email the people on the list -- personally, and on a regular basis. Now perhaps you're thinking, "How the heck would I get people to opt in to receiving email marketing messages? And the answer to that is easy...

"You simply give away something of value -- a unique freebie, in exchange for some contact information..."

That's right, in order to effectively use opt-in email marketing, you need to offer a unique and free product or service. Of all the ways to grow a potential customer list on the Internet this one method is the cheapest and most effective.

Here's an example of this strategy in action:

Step One:

Every single day hundreds of people download free eBooks from my site. I give them away to both help my niche market and to grow my opt-in list of potential customers. As I write this I have some 100,000+ names and email addresses of potential customers. Every one of them requested a free eBook and gave me permission to email them, which I do with my email newsletter and my pre-programmed follow-up autoresponses.

That means when I have a new product to introduce, I have 100,000+ people who want to hear about it; people I've already helped in the past. When I have a joint-venture to promote with another marketer, I have a huge list of people who are actually looking for the type of products and services I offer. Can you see the power in this strategy?

If you're going to do business online, get used to the idea of giving away freebies. It's the best way to grow your
business. Just be sure every freebie you offer is in exchange for your prospects' name and email address. Then save the names and email addresses you get to a "house list" of email contacts and treat it like gold! Actually, I should say, treat those people like gold. Start an email newsletter or tip sheet on your area of expertise. Share your knowledge with your list(s). These people are your bread and butter. Help them succeed and they will reward you with their attention -- if not now, some day.

Step Two:

Next, take your freebie strategy a step further. Implement follow-up autoresponder email sequences with each freebie you offer. Get these people more free, valuable information. Cross-sell and up-sell using your autoresponders. Offer free email marketing courses and tutorials. Fully-automated sales tools like auto-followup autoresponders are one of the best ways you'll ever sell to your targeted lists of prospects. Using tools like that is putting technology to work for your business.

That's it... it's as simple as I've just stated and that was just ONE example. (I've got dozens more!)

I've rigorously tested more than thirty different strategies for getting website traffic. While I regularly try new methods, I stick with about ten proven strategies now. (Don't let that scare you off, many of the methods I use are 100% automated and take about a total of a few hours a week.) There is a good probability that you found my website through a "keyword search." You were looking for information on a particular subject, and you "happened to" end up here. But the reality of it is, it was no accident you ended up at my site. Let me explain...

Go to one of the web's busiest search engines (Yahoo.com and Google.com are currently at the top of that list) and do a search for this popular search phrase...

Chances are, you'll find this site or my bizweb2000.com site listed on the first page of results, from literally millions of competing websites.

Here's just one more example...

Go back to that search engine and search for "Internet marketing expert." Again, you'll find my websites listed on the first page, among millions of web pages.

Keep in mind that I am in an extremely competitive field and getting search engine ranking is close to impossible. And those are just two examples. I have a long list I could share with you, but you get the point.

It is just one more way I get highly targeted traffic to my websites without spending a penny. And I've showed many others how to do the very same thing with their websites. It's actually much easier for almost any other niche, since the competition is much lower.

So how is it done?

Well, it takes a combination of things. For starters, you must use your best keywords in the title of your web pages. You also need to use your best keywords in the text of your pages, but be careful not to use them too often. I keep my keyword density to less than 5% on my web pages and you should too.

And this may be the most important search engine optimization tip you need to know...

Getting good search engine ranking is not about tricking the search engines. It is about setting up your pages so that the search engines can easily find and index them. In fact, trying to manipulate the search engines for better ranking can actually have the opposite affect, getting you worse rankings, and sometimes even dropped from their database altogether.

What other things you can do to improve your ranking?

Well, for starters, you need to continually grow the number of incoming links to your website. And links from related sites will help much more than non-related sites. Additionally, what those links say is important. Text links containing your site's best keywords are much more effective than banner links, for growing your website traffic as well as improving your search engine ranking. 

Sure, there's a lot more to it and it is impossible to cover it all in this guide, but if you follow those guidelines you'll be on your way to better ranking. And if it all seems too difficult or time consuming, don't worry. It's really not as difficult as it seems. And I can help you more with this in a few minutes. For now, please read on. You're almost to the end and there are a few more important things to cover.

And remember, no matter what you do with that search engine ranking information, do not make the mistake of overlooking the point I am trying to make here...

If you plan on using the web to earn money, getting free, targeted traffic from the web's major search engines is imperative. And remember, search engine optimization is just one web marketing strategy you should be using.

Heck, just within the last few months I implemented another new web marketing strategy which bumped the newsletter subscription requests coming through my site to more than 2200 a month. And the strategy cost me a grand total of zero dollars and an hour to implement. But I can't share that secret with you just yet, I'm still perfecting it!

My whole point to this section is... thanks to the Internet, powerful small-business promotion is now easier than ever. You just have to know where and how to get it. And remember, you don’t have to shell out big bucks to get oodles of free and low-cost exposure on the Internet. When it comes to promoting your business, you need to do it constantly. But when it comes to spending big bucks on promotion, just say no.
